I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt 3. of your confidential despatch dated 17th August, 1938,

and note that my proposals regarding the rebuilding of

Government House have your approval.

With regard to the second paragraph of your 3 despatch under reference, it is my intention that the

use of the present Government House as Government

offices should be a purely temporary arrangement

pending the demolition of the present offices and the

creation of a permanent Government Headquarters.

In accordance with the third paragraph of

your despatch under reference this correspondence is no longer being treated as confidential.
