COPY OF A LETTER TO Mr. GEOFFREY NICHOLSON,M.P., FROM
MISS M. L. ASHWORTH, DATED JUNE 20TH, 1938.
G. Nicholson, Esq.,M.P.,
Dear Mr. Nicholson,
I am enclosing a cutting from to-day's "Daily Telegraph"
Those of us who have long been working for the freedom of
the "Mui Tsai" in Hong Kong have long suspected that there
has been real slavery amongst these girls. We know they
have been bought and sold definitely.
Will you ask a question about it in the House, and bring
the matter into publicity? Then perhaps the Colonial
Office may take action. It is monstrous this should go on
under British rule.
Copy H.K..
Sincerely yours,
(Signed) (Miss) M. L. ASHWORTH.
