Your telegram No. 125 Purser of Chitral was given

Hughes £15 on arrival

£16 with instructions to pay escort

and on certificate of ship's surgeon. If such certificate har

issued flughes may be paid £15 by the Crown Agents from Hong Kong

funds.

Temporary maintenance at Seamen's Hospital should be

met from £16 which as stated above is not Reynolds property

if this is feasible. Otherwise Hong Kong funde may be used.

No other relative known to this Government and I agree that

public assistance authorities should be approached. This

Government has no responsibility for Reynolds and has spent

much on his repatriation.
