With reference to your minute No.53928/38
of 25th July 1938, regarding Captain John Reynolds
repatriated from Hong Kong, I attach for your
information a copy of a letter and enclosure from the
Seamen's Hospital in reply to our application for the
refund of the sums of £16.16.9d. and Hong Kong $ 3.71
deposited with the Steward of the Hospital by the
Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Co., and also
a copy of a letter from the London County Council on
the same subject.
Will you please say whether any further action
is necessary at this stage, regarding the recovery of the
money and also whether the Seamen's Hospital Account
should be paid in the meantime.
You will notice that the "deposit" has dwindled
to £15.16.4d.
