An Ordinance to amend the Registration Ordinance
(Chapter 106).
[20th November, 1936].
It is hereby enacted by the Governor of the Straits Settlements with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof as follows:-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Registration Short title. (Amendment) Ordinance, 1936, and shall be construed
as one with the Registration Ordinance hereinafter referred to as the Principal Ordinance.

2. Section 1 of the Principal Ordinance is amended- Amendment (a) by inserting the symbol -(1)" immediately of section 1.
after the figure "1" in the number of the
section;
(b) by adding the following subsection:-
Bringing Ordinance into force.
(2) The Governor may from time to time by proclamation published in the Gazette bring this Ordinance into force from such date as may be mentioned in the proclama- tion; and he may from time to time by a like proclamation suspend the operation of this Ordinance.
3. Subsection (1) of section 4 of the Principal Amendment Ordinance is amended--
(a) by deleting the words "on the 1st day of October, 1933, shall within three months thereafter, and every such person arriving
