General Order 185 is hereby amended by the
insertion of '(1)' after '185' and addition of the following
paragraphs
"(2) An extension of leave on full-pay to
suit steamship arrangements shall not ordinarily
exceed seven days; and if the officer has not
sufficient balance of leave available to cover
such overstay a debit shall be entered in his
leave account. Any avoidable overstay of leave
on these grounds beyond seven days shall be
treated as leave without pay for the period in
excess of seven days.
(3) An extension of leave granted on grounds
of private affairs shall, when the officer has
no further leave available, ordinarily be treated as
an advance of leave on half-pay: but the leave
so advanced shall be debited, in the case of
officers serving under the present leave
regulations, to their account of leave earned
under General Order 172 and, in the case of officers
serving under the previous leave regulations, to
their half-pay leave account."
