HONG KONG.
With reference to Colonial Office letter
No.53890/38 of the 16th November, 1938, and enclosures,
regarding the rate of conversion of dollar pensions
payable from the Hong Kong Widows and Orphans Pensi on
Fund, we conclude that Mr. E.J. Pierpoint has been
informed of the decision to retain the old rate of
33.0d. to the dollar in his case. Since, however,
according to our records there would appear to be a
number of other pensioners who may be similarly
affected, it seems desirable for us to be furnished
by the Government of Hong Kong with a list of
those to whom the decision may also apply in order
that they may be informed of the position.
Will you please say whether you propose to write to
Hong Kong in this sense, or whether we should do so?
