1938.
I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the
Admiralty to inform you that application has been made to
the Admiralty for permission to manufacture in this country
and export to Hong Kong a quantity of bullet proof plating
for two gunboats under construction by Messrs. W. S. Bailey
& Co., Ltd. at Hong Kong for the Canton Government.
My Lords would be grateful if the Secretary of
State would be good enough to ascertain for their
information whether a licence for the construction of these
vessels has been issued by the Hong Kong Government to the
builders, under the terms of the Treaties of Washington
x Act, 1922.
