You should, if you see no objection, remind Japanese Government of British interest in Chinese section of Canton Kowloon railway.
You should at the same time remind Japanese Government that British section of railway is property of Hongkong Government, and ask that instructions should be issued for return of rolling stock referred to in Canton telegram 265 [of the 5th November] repeated to you No. 55. In view of Colonial Office telegram No. 212 to Hongkong [of 3rd November] you should not in this case raise issue of payment out of revenues of railway to meet service of loans.
