Japanese military authorities have published two issues of a newspaper in Chinese 11th November and 17th November, and they hope to issue shortly two further newspapers in Japanese and one in Chinese as well as British owned Canton Daily Sun

in English.

2. Reliable foreigners inform me that Japanese authorities have told them that it is hoped to reopen river traffic by the end of November and Canton-Kowloon Railway traffic in

January.

merchants are now in Canton.
