I am directed by Mr. Neville Chamberlain to
state that he agrees with the views expressed in your 5 letter No.53838/19/38 of the 10th January regarding the
issue of a notice warning intending travellers on the
Kowloon-Canton road of the danger of aerial bombardment,
and that he proposes accordingly to instruct His
Majesty's Chargé d'Affaires at Shanghai to arrange for
the issue of the warning in question.
2. A draft of the telegram is enclosed herewith
for the concurrence of the Secretary of State for the
Colonies.
