Quod 113

B.6263/38.

BURMA OFFICE,

WHITEHALL, S.W.1.

7th October 1938.

Dear Rogers,

We do not seem to have heard anything since the circulation of Colonial Office telegram to Hong Kong of the

5th July, copy of which was sent to us under your

qU No.53846/38 about the proposed establishment of an aircraft

factory at Hong Kong.

Meanwhile, as you will have seen from our printed letter of the 15th July, B.3468/38, we consulted the Government of Burma demi-officially on this project. We have now received a reply from them, the upshot of which is that the Governor is unwilling to consult the Ministry as to their attitude towards this project until further details are known. We do not propose to circulate the letters we have had from Burma, but, if there have been any developments in

the matter, we shall be glad to be informed.

Yours sincerely,

mandan

P. Rogers, Esq.
