Hongkong Luen Shing Pilot Office shall not, until after

being notified by the appropriate Chinese authorities, send

a pilot to the vessel in Hongkong, bringing with him the

authorization permitting entry on the date approved. Upon

proceeding to a point in the vicinity of Lung Uet ( ),

the vessel should stop and the pilot on board should then

turn over to her Captain the authorization for guidance in

hoisting the entrance flags. Simultaneously, the Company's

House Flag and the flag showing the name of the vessel

should also be hoisted to notify the Headquarters of the

Commander of Bocca Tigris of her approach. Upon receiving

the Headquarters' approval, the vessel should lower the

entering flag and upon being guided by the pilot to a point

off Tiger Island, anchor off there and must not proceed any

further.

A merchant vessel coming here directly from any

other ports shall, in accordance with the preceding article,

secure a pilot from the Hongkong Luen Shing Pilot Office

and shall follow all other requirements contained in these

measures.

A launch, which has hitherto not been furnished

with a flag indicating its name, may, while coming in or

going out through Bocca Tigris, hoist only a Company's House

Flag and may be exempted from hoisting the flag indicating

its name, provided that it observes all other procedure

specified for regulating incoming and outgoing vessels.

4. After anchoring in the river off Tiger Island,

every merchant vessel should manage to have her passengers

and cargo transhipped between Canton and Tiger Island aboard

small launches hired by her or any other lighters. Launches

or lighters for transhipment purposes must not be of more
