TEMPORARY MEASURES GOVERNING THE NAVIGATION

OF FOREIGN WAR VE SELS THROUGH THE CHANNEL OF BOCCA

TIGRIS.

(1) All war vessels of various foreign nationalities

(with the exception of Japanese, and this exception is also

applicable to the following measures) drawing draughts not

exceeding 7 feet, which desire to pass through the channel

of Bocoa Tigris, must obtain prior authorization from the

Headquarters of the Kwangtung Pacification Commissioner

through their respective Consule at Canton giving the name

of the vessel and the date and hour of arrival or departure.

(2) Every incoming foreign war vessel which has already

obtained permission from the leadquarters of the Kwangtung

Pacification Commissioner to pass through the channel of

Bocca Tigris should apply for the services of a pilot from

the "Luen Shing Pilots Office" Hongkong, a branch office of

the Luen Shing Pilots Association of Canton. The Pilots

Office in Hongkong shall, upon the receipt of instruction

from the appropriate (Chinese) authorities, detail a pilot

to go on board. The incoming foreign war vessel upon

arriving near Lung Uet (

) should anchor at that

place and notify the Headqarters of the Commander of Bocca

Tigris Forts by hoisting the ordinary incoming flag as well

as the ensign indicating the name of the vessel.
