to the west bank, the space available for

navigation being indicated by a green flag.

The above procedure is to apply to all

merchant vessels except those of Japanese

nationality.

In regard to regulation No.3, the following

interpretation has been obtained:-

1. That incoming vessels drawing over 7 feet

may proceed as far as Tiger Island, and there

tranship cargo and passengers into transhipment

vessels drawing not more than 7 feet.

2.

That vessels drawing not more than 7 feet

may proceed direct without transhipment between

Canton and Hong Kong etc.

N.B. It is to be noted (Vide Regulation No.1)

that pilots are in every case required for

navigation between Sampanchow and Tiger Island.

It is assumed that the route described in Regulation

No. 4 is via Hill Passage.
