With reference to the letter from this department
No. F 12651/4/10 of the 15th December, regarding the
stopping of S.S. "Tingshaan" by a Japanese destroyer, I
am directed by Viscount Halifax to enclose a copy of a
telegram which he has received from His Majesty's
Ambassador at Tokyo.
2. Lord Halifax would propose, subject to the
concurrence of the Secretary of State for the Colonies,
to inform Sir Robert Craigie that he approves of the action
suggested.
3.
Similar letters are being sent to the Admiralty
and the Board of Trade.
