EGY the following message from

the Bishop of Hong Kong may be forwarded to the Archbishop

of Canterbury begins.

The Governor of Hong Kong has suggested to the

Secretary of State for the Colonies that steps be taken by

the Foreign Office to obtain Chinese and Japanese co-operation in demilitarising (neutralising) area in Kuangtung providing for refugee women children and infi rmed men only which would be organised and administered by

christian bodies. As hostilities intensify in South China

we anticipate immense number of refugees far beyond the

capacity of Hong Kong accommodation. I shall be grateful

for any support you will give to the suggestion.

Ends.
