On 29.4.38, I left Shaukiwan to go fishing.

I fished in the vicinity of Waglan until 3.5.38, when the

typhoon blew me down as far as GAP ROCK which I recognised by the Lighthouse there. Then the wind abated, I took a course back to Hong Kong via the Ladrones. At about 11.00 hours on 1.5.38, I was sailing near MAN SHAN (Ladrone Group) when I saw a junk in the distance, which appeared to be in distress. approaching it I found it had been on fire. I noticed someone signalling to us. I went alongside and on the deck, saw two Chinese females who displayed wounds to me. They told me they had been attacked by Japanese. They were both very exhausted. I made a search to see if there were any more people on board and in the hold I saw a heap of more than 10 corpses. there were those of a male child, a female and two women. All these bodies bore wounds but I cannot say whether they were caused by bullets or knives. I then took the two women on board my boat. They lay down and did not speak. I continued to Hồng Hong Kong. I reached Green Island at 17.00 hours on 5.5.38 where I engaged a laugh to tow me. I then took the two women to the

Water Police Station.
