States:-

6th May 1938.

My husband's name is CHENG KUN YAU. I as

employed on the above junk as a cook. My husband also worked

on board as a fisherman, There were about 40 mersons on board

the junk which left Shaukiwan some days ago on a fishing trip.

At about 09.00 hours on 3.5.38, when the jmk

was off HAN THAN, a number of Japanese dressed in Khaki uniforn

cano alongkide in a motor boat from a warship. ne of the

Japanese spoke in Punti and asked for fish. Je gave then

several tens of catties of fish, after which we were all tied

up with our hands behind our backs. The Japanese started to

shoot and stab everyone. I was stabbed in several places and

throw into the hold. The then set fire to the junk and left.

Before they left I saw three of the girls en our boat being

raved by several Japanese. There were over 30 dead bodies

including that of my husband in the hold.

After the apanese left, there was only ne

person alive besides myself. She was CHENG SHU, fenale, and on the following day (4.5.38) we were rescued and taken to

Hong Kong.

My adopted father, KOK SAM MING, is a fish-

erman on an unknown fishing boat at berdeen. He can be located

at the TUNG LEE Fish Junk, Aberdeen.
