With reference to Colonial Office letter
2 No.53838/10/F/38 of 23rd May addressed to the Foreign
office and to the semi-official letter of 1st June from
the Colonial office addressed to Mr.Ronald, concerning
the attack on 17th May by Japanese armed trawlers on
a fishing junk in Hong Kong territorial waters, I am
commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty
to acquaint you for the information of the Secretary
of State for Foreign Affairs, that they concur in the
Colonial Office view that a strong protest against
this infringement of Hong Kong territorial waters
should be made to the Japanese Government.
