Sir,
I have the honour to refer to my secret
teleg telegrams Nos. 133 and 140 regarding the alleged
murder of two members of the crew of Hong Kong
fishing junk No. 2012 H.D., and the serious wounding of a third member by Japanese sailors at Lin Tin on the 17th of May, 1938, and to forward herewith for your information copies of full statements by those who witnessed the capture of the three men from its sampan, and copy of the statement of the injured man, who claims to have seen the murdered bodies of his two companions who were also captured. Copies of a statement summarising the evidence of the Hong Kong birth of members of the crew and the captured man are also appended, together with copies of statements by the persons who subsequently
rescued the injured man, and a copy of a medical
report on his injuries.
