Sir,
I am directed by Viscount Halifax to
transmit to you herewith a copy of a letter
from the Colonial Office forwarding a claim,
supported by a statutory declaration, by a
Mr. Eric Mayell in respect of personal property
lost in the U.S.S. "Panay".
2. I am to request that you will include
Mr. Mayell's claim among the personal claims
in respect of losses suffered during the
incidents on the Yangtse in December last.
