About 50 minutes later No. 5 Police Launch
which had received instructions by wireless arrived on the scene and the Chief Officer signalled to the launch with the result that a boat was lowered and the crew
taken on board.

No one had been wounded or injured.
The spot at which the crew was picked up was
a little distance from YUNG LUNG WAN and at the request of the Chief Officer the Police Launch proceeded to
YUNG LUNG WAN to make certain that the cruiser had been
seized and found that it was so. The Police Launch saw no signs of el ther the Japanese destroyer or the cruiser and then returned to Hong Kong.
