With reference to Colonial Cfiice letter

53838/2/38 of the 14th instant, I am directed by Viscount

Halifax to transit herewith, for credit of the funds of

the Government of Hong Kong, & payable order for the sum

of £9,650.

2.

This sum represents an advance payment of the

excess of expenditure over receipts on the secounts of the

Shanghai Refugees Committee, and is subject to adjustment

when the accounts have been finally settled and examined.
