To take the sections of the Anomalies
Committee's Report in No.2:-
I. Pensions.
Subject to the observations of the Pensions
Branch I suggest that the quarters addition might be
15% for officers appointed after 31st March, 1937,
who at retirement are entitled to free quarters, with
a maximum of £150 (15% for Nurses or £50 whichever is
greater). It is not, I believe, usual now-a-days to
use the 1/6th fraction.
II. Rent for Quarters and Rent or Lodging Allowances.
We should agree to the payment of 13% of
salary for Government quarters (12% if unfinished).

We can agree to the rent allowance proposals
subject to the Governor's recommendation that officers
serving on the old 6% terms should retain their
existing privileges pending further consideration.
III. Residential Allowances.
Paragraph 12. The real object of the
residential allowance system is not to lessen
