6. The only structural additions to a boom
vessel to enable her to carry out training in
minesweeping are the provision of sockets, port and atarboard, at 68 station for taking the portable davit at present fitted at 18 station. Commodore,
Hong Kong, 18 authorised to arrange for this work to be carried out as a charge to Navy Votes. The provision of suitable minesweeping gear is the
responsibility of the Hong Kong Government. A Mark II equipment, without additional cutters, would cost
£520 exclusive of freight and handling charges.
7.
Their Lordships do not propose that the
crew of the boom vessel, who are paid an inclusive
rate for 7 days a week to cover all work required,
should receive any additional remuneration on
account of minesweeping training.
