Auditor's doubt whether securities deposited by
Insurance Companies in accordance with local Ordinances should be shown in the Colony's
statement of assets and liabilities and should
be glad to receive your instructions on this
matter.
(d) Paragraph 81. The question of the control of
medical stores is still receiving the attention of
the Medical Department.
(e) Paragraph 108. The new system of Colonial
Government accounting described in Mr. Ormsby-
Gore's circular despatch of 25th November, 1937,
is being adopted by the Hong Kong Government at
the end of the current financial year. The
necessary accounting adjustments will then be made
and it is the intention to prepare the statement
of assets and liabilities as at 31st December,
1938, in accordance with the new form.
