I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of Your Excellency's letter No.861/35 dated the 13th April,
1937, on the subject of the proposed site for the
construction of a Combined British and Indian Military
Hospital on the Mainland.
2.
The site suggested by you in paragraph 3. has
been examined by the Chief Engineer, who considers that
the site is suitable and that a convenient lay-out of the
proposed hospital buildings can be obtained.
3.
I wish to express to Your Excellency my great
appreciation of your action in giving this site for the
Hospital. The War Office has not yet reached a decision
on the matter generally but pending that decision I would
ask that the Area marked red on the accompanying plan may
be regarded as reserved for the Hospital.
