If the officer is transferred to the permanent establisiment he will, after service of not less than ten years from date of first appointment, be eligible on retirement for a pension at the rate of 1/600th. of his pensionable emoluments in respect of each completed month of his pensionable service. Such pension will, however, not exceed two-thirds of his pensionable emoluments. Pension is not granted until an officer attains the age of 55, or in special cases with the approval of the Secretary of State-on or after attaining the age of 50, except on the recommendation of a Medical Board.
