employment.
Although it must clearly be understood that Government is and will be under no obligation to provide further employment, the office of Architect is normally regarded as of a permanent nature, and in the ordinary course of events if the service and conduct of the officer is entirely satisfactory to the Government, and if he is considered in every way fit, medically and otherwise, to continue in office, and if replacement by engagement of some other person would become necessary but for his retention, the prospects are that the Government will rete in his services, if he so desires, either by transfer to the permanent establishment, with consequential benefits and expectations, or by re-engagement for a further period under a fresh agreement. In the absence of express agreement with, or decision of, the Govemment to the contrary, any continued service after the expiration of the period of the engagement will be on a monthly basis.
