The Post Office estimates are $513,000 over
the approved estimates though $300,000 less than the
1937 figure, which was abnormally high as the result
of sales of Coronation stamps.
The Kowloon
Canton Railway receipts are
$856,000 over the approved estimates and $600,000
over the 1937 receipts.
Miscellaneous Receipts are $400,000 over
the approved estimates though $190,000 less than in
1937.

Land Sales show a satisfactory increase
and are estimated at $750,000 odd more than the
approved estimates and of $575,000 odd more than in
1937. This probably is the result of purchase of
land by wealthy refugees from China.
Total Revenue is estimated at $5,405,080

the approved estimates and $2,463,633 Boy 1937.
Most expenditure he ads also show considerable
increases over the approved estimates and 1937 figures;
in most cases as a direct or indirect result of the
Sino-Japanese conflict.
Charitable Services show an increase of
$200,000 odd over the approved estimates, largely as
a result of expenditure on refugees.
Kowloon - Canton Railway expenditure is
$417,000 odd over the approved estimates,but this is
more than offset by the higher receipts as a result
of increased traffic.
