4. After lengthy negotiations this offer has been
accepted by the Tung Wal Hospital Directors and their
advisers.
The Finance Committee of the Legislative Council
has been informally consulted and has agreed to the
payment subject to a condition, accepted by the Directors,
that the money shall be invested and for part of the
Hospital Endowments.
5. I shall accordingl; be glad to receive your sanction
to take a vote for this amount. I am anxious to take this
opportunity to remove with the consent of those concerned
the anomaly of a privately administered infectious diseases
hospital and at the same time to make the site available
for possible future extensions to the adjoining Government
Infectious Diseases Hospital.
