bombed the Railway dropping 8 bombs of which 2 were at the back

of the Sheung Ping station damaging the doors, windows and

ceiling of the station building and making a crater of 10' dia,

on the Main line platform, 8 at the Railway Police Matshed

in front of the station, and 4 into the paddy field near the

station slightly damaging the road bed of the main line.

Between 14.20 and 15.30 hours the Railway was bombed at Shek

Lung by 6 enemy planes. 9 bombs were dropped in the East

River near the East River Bridge without any damage, 2 near

the Down Outter-Home Signal damaging all the wires, 9 into

the paddy field near the Shek Lung yard without damage, 1 into

the market near the East liver Bridge demolishing several

houses, and 3 on No. 3 Road in East River yard damaging 2 pairs

of rail and making 2 craters in the road bed 10' dia. x 8' deep,

and 4' dia. x 5' deep. Between 15.00 and 15.20 hours 6 enemy

planes bombed the Railway between Sha Po and Shek Ha dropping

5 bombs. 1 bomb was dropped at Km. 41/14 destroying 4 telegraph

poles and telephone cable, 1 at Km. 48/7 without any damage,

1 at Km. 49/5 damaging 2 pairs of rail and making a crater

about 35' dia. x about 15' deep on the embankment: 1 bomb was

dropped at Km. 50/0 slightly damaging 3 pairs of rail, and 1

at Bridge No. 85 (3-60' Plate Girder, Km. 58.95) the bracing

and pannel plates of the left girder of the No. 1 span being

damaged by splintera.

At about 14. 10 hours 2 enemy planes

NAM SHEH WANG LIK At about 17.00 hours the Railway

was again bombed by 3 enemy planes drappingxf6xbombaxsax. 1

bomb was dropped at Km. 77/8, but without any damage to the

Railway.

Repairs were immediately carried out for trains to pass.

30TH DECEMBER.

CHEUNG MUK TOU. At about 8.45 hours the Kun-Cheung Highway

was bombed by 6 enemy planes dropping 16 bombs near Cheung Muk

Tou, but no damage was done to the Railway.
