I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt
of your secret despatch of the 18th of January and to
inform you that I approve the additional expenditure of
$18,716.50 for building a bridge over the hum Chun.
subject to the approval of the Legislative Council also
being obtaineă.
2. I shall be glad to learn whether it will be
possible to obtain figures for exports of munitions to
China passing over the road which has now been completed
and, if so, I shall be obliged if they can be added as
a supplement to the weekly telegrans giving figures
of exports of munitions sent by rail.
