The two proposed extensions to the Kai Tak

Aerodrome are both expensive and difficult.

The

first of the proposed extensions would cost about

$18,000,000 and the second about $8,000,000, and

they would take about eight and four years

respectively to complete. The D.P.W. does not

recommend the Government to commit itself to either

of these works, and I certainly think that Hong

Kong is scarcely in a position to undertake such

heavy expenditure at the moment.
