With reference to Colonial Office letter
No. 53510/38 of the 1st June, 1938 regarding a request

from the Managing Director of the Canton-Kowloon
Railway for a loan from the British section of the
Railway, I am directed by Viscount Halifax to state that
he agrees with the lines of the reply to the Governor of
Hong Kong laid down in the letter from the Treasury 10 to the Colonial Office No. F 15539 of the 8th June.
