which shall be sent to the Canton-Hankow Railway or their
representative in Hong Kong.
Locomotive Repairs.
Repairs shall be carried out on instructions from
the driver or engine examiner.
Carriage Repairs.
Running gear repairs shall be carried out on instructions
from the carriage examiner.
Bodywork or interior repairs to be carried out on
instructions from the train conductor.
Such repairs with the necessary store issue notes will
be forwarded to the Canton-Hankow Railway or their '
representative in Hong Kong within 48 hours of completion of
the work.
Carriage Cleaning.
Stores and labour for carriage cleaning shall be
at a consolidated rate which shall be the subject of a
mutual agreement between the parties concerned.
6. The British and the Chinese Sections of the Canton-
Kowloon Railway shall pay $1.40 Hong Kong Currency per mile
to the Canton-Hankow Railway for locomotive hire, so long
as locomotive haulage be performed by the Canton-Hankow
Railway, but under conditions of locomotive failure on the
part of the former Section, the haulage performed by a
British or Chinese Section locomotive shall be the subject
of a credit in the haulage accounts submitted to the
Canton-Hankow Railway, at the same rate per mile.
7. In the event of a Canton-Hankow Railway engine
failure, the British and Chinese Section of the Canton
Kowloon Railway shall make such arrangements as may be
considered desirable in the best interests of traffic
operation, but normally in such circumstances a Chinese
Section Class C or Class D locomotive shall be considered
