No. 3479/4
Mr. Cowell.
From the copy of despatch Hong Kong No.28 of
20th January, 1939, which was sent to me as a result
of my minute of the 23rd of December, 1938 in Hong
Kong 53510/38, I see that approval has been given for
a limit of $20,000 for the balance of the new Railway
Workshops Account in Hong Kong. Since the trans-
actions which will appear in this account were
previously accounted for in the Railway Unallocated
Stores (see paragraph 2 of No.33 in Hong Kong 53510/38)
which had an approved limit of $175,000, I should be
glad to know whether it is proposed that the existing
maximum limit of that account is to be reduced by
$20,000 to $155,000.
