b.l. N°
A gentleman called Mr. Nissim rang me up yaster
today to inquire about the formalities which would be
necessary for a friend of his to comply with if he
wished to settle in Hong Kong, and he asked for an
official letter setting out the position.
He was particularly anxious that something
should be said to the effect that a permit to settle
would not be required as is the case in this country.
He was anxious to establish the bona fides
of his friend and said that he was well known to two
influential families in Hong Kong, but I told him that
that would be a matter for the Passport Office who
would grant the necessary visa.
I attach draft for conson.
