cholera work, and the other a Mr. Landauer, an Austrian sanitary engineer now in North-West China,

who has been working for the Central Field Health

Station in Nanking. At Dr. Robertson's request, it has

further been arranged for a British doctor named Hawes

to be his medical assistant: the latter has already

sailed for China.

The "British unit" is now accordingly better

described as the "English-speaking unit", which indeed

was, I understand, its original name.
