An Ordinance to amend the Naval Establishments Police
Ordinance, 1875.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Naval Establish- Short title. ments Police Amendment Ordinance, 1937.
2. Section 2 of the Naval Establishments Police Ordin- Substitution ance, 1875, is repealed and the following section is substituted for Ordin- therefor
ance No. 1 of 1875, s. 2.
2. Every member of the police force employed in the Powers of Royal Naval Establishments shall-
(1) within the said Establishments as well on water as on land;
(2) without the said Establishments, in the waters of the harbour not more than 100 yards from the sea-wall of the said Establishments and also within the limits for the time being of any anchorage set apart for ships of war under the provisions of the Merchant Shipping Ordinance, 1899;

(3) without the said Establishments, in so far as may be 1899. necessary for the arrest of any person whom he finds committing or whom he may reasonably suspect of having committed or of being about to commit an offence within the limits mentioned in paragraphs (1) or (2), or for conveying any person lawfully arrested to a police station or before a magistrate,
have the powers of a police officer of corresponding rank.
