of vibrios during the epidemic was 1560. of these 556 were

positive and 1004 negative.

It may be pointed out that at the height of the epidemic

only doubtful cases were sent for diagnosis, otherwise the numbers

would have been much greater.

During the first few days of the

epidemic most of the organisms recovered were subjected to the

agglutination test for specificity and it was found that they

agglutinated to full titre against the appropriate anti-serum.

The total amount of Cholera vaccine issued was 16,650 c.c. which

was disposed of as follows :-

Hospitals & Dispensaries etc.

Naval Hospital

Private practitioners

9950 c.c.

200 c. c.

6500 c.c.

16650 c.c.

In addition to this amount 13,700 c.c. is held in cold storage

at the Central Medical Stores, making a total amount prepared

of 30,350 c.c. The strength of this vaccine is 3000 million

per c.c.
