continued unabated and in the week 15th to 21st there were 358
cases. It was on August 18th that the highest daily number
were admitted to hospital viz. 64. In the following week 22nd
to 28th the peak of the epidemic was reached when a total of 381
cases occurred. There was a sharp decline in the number of
cases following this and another further drop after the 11th
September.
In the month of October the total number of cases
was only 78 and in November there were only 7 cases, the last
case occurring on 17th November.
