Sir,
I am commanded by the Army Council to acknowledge
receipt of Colonial Office letter No. 53851/37, dated
6th November, 1937, and, in reply, to state, for the
information of Mr Secretary Ormsby Gore, that so far
as defence considerations are concerned they have no
objection to the proposed construction of a separate
road bridge to complete the road connection between
Hong Kong and Canton.
