PRACTICAL EXAMINATION.

The candidate will be required:-

To perform such operations of the British Pharmacopoeia or such parts of them as may be practicable, involved in the processes for preparing collodions, confections, decoctions, dilute acids, extracts (liquid & solid) glycerines, infusions, juices, liniments, lotions, mix- tures, ointments, pili masses, plasters, powders (simple & compound) scale preparations, solutions, spirits, suppositories, syrups, tinctures, vinegars, waters and wines.

To compound and dispense medicines as prescribed; to write the directions in concise language and in NEAT AND DISTINCT hand- writing; to finish and properly direct each package. (In assessing the work in this subject the time taken by the candidate is taken into account.)

The candidate will be required to bring to the practical examina- tion his original laboratory notebooks for inspection should the ex- aminers so desire. These books must be taken away by the candidate at the close of the examination.

Forensic Pharmacy.

AN ORAL AND WRITTEN EXAMINATION.

The candidate must possess a thoroughly competent knowledge of the Pharmacy and Poisons Ordinance, 1987, the Dangerous Druge Ordinance, 1935, and the Regulations made under either Ordinance.

REGISTRATION OF PHARMACISTS HOLDING DIPLOMAS. (s. 3{1} {d}}.

1. The following holder of British, Dominion and Colonial diplomas are approved for the purposes of section 3 (1) (d) of the Ordinance :-

(a) Any person duly registered as a pharmaceutical chemist or chemist and druggist under the Pharmacy Act, 1988;

(b) Any person holding the certificate of a Dominion or Colonial pharmaceutical institution which has entered into or may hereafter enter into an agreement for reciprocity of registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.

The following Dominion or Colonial institutions have already entered into such agreements for reciprocal registration.-

The Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland.

The Pharmacy Board of Tasmania.

The Pharmacy Board of South Africa. The Ontario College of Pharmacy.

ihe Pharmacy Board of New Zealand.

The Pharmacy Board of South Australia.

The Pharmaceutical Council of Western Australia.

The Pharmacy Board of Queensland.

The Pharmaceutical Society of New South Wales.

2. Every person who satisfies the registrar that he holds a diploma mentioned in regulation 1 of these regulations and is entitled, upon compliance with the statutory requirements of the country in which the diploma was granted, to practise pharmacy in that country shall upon payment of the fee payable on registration be entitled to be registered as a pharmacist under the Ordinance.

3. Every person who immediately before the commencement of the Ordinance was on the register established by the Pharmacy and Poisons Ordinance, 1916, shali upon payment of the fee payable on registration be entitled to be duly registered under the Ordinance.

4. Any person holding a diploma other than a British, Dominions or Colonial diploma and desiring to be registered must make application and forward the diploma or a copy thereof to the registrar who may require him to undergo such examination as the registrar may consider fit. The registrar shall then forward the diploma or copy and the application together with a report on the examination as the case may be to the Governor in Council. The holder of Я diploma which has been approved by the Governor in Council shall on payment of the prescribed fee be entitled to be duly registered under the Ordinance.

POISONS REGULATIONS.

1.
