IMMEDIATE ACTION,

Reports of the Chairman of the Medical Sub-Committee and the Clothing Sub-Committee led to a discussion regarding the despatch of goods. It was agreed subsequently that the question of destination must at present be left in abeyance until news was received from the Committee in China, and the offer of Mr. Swire that his Firm should assist the Medical Sub-Committee in the dispatch of goods was readily accepted.

Following this discussion the question of how much money in cash or for drugs could be utilised at once was raised, and of the £27,000 already received it was agreed that £10,000 should be spent to provide Drugs, Medicines, Surgical Instruments, etc. and that £5,000 be cabled to the Ambassador's Committee in China with information as to the financial condition of the Fund. The question of further apportioning expenditure to be discussed at the Committee's next meeting.
