71. Chinese Military Authorities state navigation
between Canton and Boccatile is suspended from 0600 October 1st.
Not yet known if this is due to permanent obstruction.
SHAME at Hong Kong remainder of gunboats up river. Previous
reports state Chinese had closed all channels except Boccatile
which would be kept open. Definite information that all
such channels are completely blocked to River Gunboats is not
however yet confirmed, in fact Moto-Mun Channel is reported
clear at present.
