Dear Orde,
Thank you for your note of the 25th of
September (F.6757/130/10) about the Japanese response
to our protest against their firing on a Chinese
customs vessel when within the territorial waters
of Hong Kong.
We quite agree that no further action in
this matter can be taken in Tokyo.
As regards the rest of your letter, viz.,
about the territorial waters of Hong Kong, I will
write to you separately.
