With reference to your letter of the 7th of October, enclosing
a copy of a telegram from the Officer administering the Government of Hong Kong, proposing an increase in the registration fee in Hong
Kong from 20 to 25 cents and in the advice of delivery fee from 10
to 25 cents with effect from the 1st of November, I am directed by
the Postmaster General to say, for the information of the Secretary
of State for the Colonies, that he has no observations to offer regarding the proposed fees, which have accordingly been notified
to the Swiss Post Office for communication to the International
Bureau of the Universal Postal Union.
A copy of the letter to the Swiss Post Office is enclosed.
