In the matter of retirement on the grounds of
ill-health I am of the opinion, having regard to all the
circumstances, that the existing rules in this Colony
are sufficiently generous, and I therefore propose to
make no alterations on the lines of the Memorandum (E)
which accompanied Mr. Thomas' despatch No.82 of 12th 5372March, 1936.

3. As regards death gratuities I enclose a print
of a draft Bill which will shortly be introduced in
Legislative Council.
